Community Networking for Wimberley & the Planet

Welcome to the Cyberspace Home of Sangha Café!*

Sally & Bruce welcome you ...

The primary purpose of The Sangha Café Project is networking. We are a loose-knit group of individuals living in Wimberley, Texas, & the surrounding area dedicated to fostering a sense of community amongst ourselves & in relation to our natural environment. Our concern is enhancing the quality of life, both human & wild.

Mission Statement:

We provide a context in which people with common & contrasting interests can meet, connect, and communicate. Our intent is eclectic, progressive, humanistic, spiritual in the broadest sense, & deeply environmental. Please listen to your heart & consider—you may wish to visit, check out the atmosphere, & consider participating.

The great anthropologist Margaret Mead said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” In this spirit, we seek to do what we can for people & for our planet.

The New Moon & the New Earth

Dear Sangha Cafe Friends:

Gliding toward the Dark of the Moon--the invisible & the unknown--that silvery cosmic slip of a ship wanes like a fingernail paring of wax adrift on warming waters of the April nights . . .

Along terraces of the vegetable garden here in Paradise, that planetary power, the irresistibly strong force of Life itself shoots up green leaves & stalks, growing swiftly every day. I swear, the corn can virtually be SEEN growing, it shoots so rapidly up toward the hot blue sky of daytime! Now in the early morning predawn hush, where I've searched for the rapidly-waning Moon in vain, that green energy sleeps & dreams . . . yet it never stops! Abiding, it persists.

Even in the seed that may lie dormant a year, or many years, the potency of Life remains ever coiled. It only awaits encouragement, moisture, light, to germinate, spring forth yet again, & flourish toward fruition & return. At a time when some are looking toward the year 2012 for a shift, why wait? It's happening now! Many seem to buy into the fear-mongering that suggests there's something "out there" that threatens you, that you cannot control. Why buy into that?

It's all happening within you! You cannot really control anything, yet when you truly surrender to what IS (which is NOT the same as resignation!) then your choices, when you act, become empowered, effective, & wise. With the New Moon, let's accept the invitation of the Divine to plant our intentions deep in the rich soil of our hearts.

*For now Sangha Café does not sell beverages or food, but is a café in the social sense, a place to relax, meet others, or be thoughtfully by yourself.
